MAX7219 is an integrated serial I / O common cathode display driver. It connects microprocessor with 8-digit 7-segment digital LED display, bar graph display or 64 independent LEDs. It includes an on-chip B-type BCD encoder, multi-channel scanning circuit, segment driver, and an 8 * 8 static RAM to store every data. Only one external register is used to set the segment current of each LED.
 
A convenient four wire serial interface can connect all general purpose microprocessors. Each data is addressable and does not need to rewrite all the displays when it is updated. MAX7219 also allows users to choose whether to code or not for each data.
The device consists of a 150 μ a low power off mode, analog and digital brightness control, a scan limit register that allows the user to display 1-8 bits of data, and a detection mode for all LEDs to emit light.
Only 3 IO ports are needed to drive 1 lattice! No flicker when dot matrix display! Cascade support!

1. A single module can drive an 8 * 8 common cathode lattice
2. Module working voltage: 5V
3. Module size: length 12.8 cm x width 12.8 cm x height 1.3 cm
4. With 64 fixing screw holes, the hole diameter is 3mm
5. The module has input and output interface and supports multiple modules cascading
 
Wiring Description:
1. The left side of the module is the input port, and the right side is the output port.
2. When controlling a single module, only the input port needs to be connected to the CPU
3. When multiple modules are cascaded, the input end of the first module is connected with the CPU, the output terminal of the second module is connected with the input end of the third module, and so on
